My name is Michael Hansford, I'm the owner of Drone State of Mind Photography LLC. I was born in Topeka, Kansas. I grew up playing sports of all kinds. I attended Seaman High School and graduated in 2001. I played football, baseball and basketball in high school. Our baseball team won the Kansas 5A State Championship and our team was inducted into the Seaman High School Hall of Honor. I received 1st team All-City in football. After high school, I played football at Highland Community College as a defensive end. At Highland CC, I began my pre-pharmacy curriculum and earned an Associate of Science degree. In 2003, I transferred to the University of Kansas to finish pre-pharmacy and was accepted into pharmacy school in 2004. I graduated pharmacy school and married my wife in 2008. After 7 years of college and graduating with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, we moved to Kansas City where I completed a residency at the University of Kansas Health System. I continued working at KU as a critical care pharmacist for 15 years until December 2023. I honed my drone skills for years beginning in 2016 with my first drone, a DJI Spark. I obtained my FAA Part 107 Pilot Certificate and started Drone State of Mind Photography LLC in the fall of 2020 when I had all sorts of people requesting drone footage. I pursued my passion of turning a hobby into a business! Drone State of Mind came about, because ever since I started flying in 2016, it seemed to others (mostly my wife) as if it was the only thing on my mind. Everywhere we go, I'm always wanting to stop along the way and “drone it”! I’ve always had an interest in aviation and flying drones allows me to express my creative side while giving others a unique perspective of the world that is only obtainable via the sky. Professional editing, fast turnaround, pharmacist level attention to detail and creativity is what sets me apart from the crowd. I strive to meet or exceed expectations of every client!
