Following her 25 year career as a Landscape Architect, in 2002 Ada Niedenthal became a full-time artist.  She uses fiber, fabric and textiles.  Her art quilt wall-hangings often feature hand painted and hand dyed fabrics crafted by the artist in her studio.

The inspiration for her work comes from patterns and forms found in nature, and from the emotions generated by the events of her daily life.

While she applies a trained designer's approach to her work, sometimes images unfold without prior design or intent and her art-making is guided by technique and process.  While this method of working might make some pieces appear to be without intention, in reality they are all very well-planned.

Ada Niedenthal strives to make art that stirs in viewers an appreciation for the world around them.  Perhaps in the hope that no amount of hunger, poverty, guns, anti-choice sentiment, misogyny, and stupidity will ever squelch the desire for a better world.
