Art is a journey, an expression of life.  Each day presents a new opportunity to capture it’s unique spirit.  Completing a painting each day since January 2013, I am truly a Daily Painter.  Painting from life whenever possible, I am constantly transposing the scene before me onto my panels.

An active Missouri artist and Urban Sketcher, my paintings have won numerous awards in local and regional shows, One and Two Person Exhibitions, and juried competitions.  Plein air works and portraits from are in private collections world wide.

An avid plein air painter, daily painter and blogger, I have been published in the August 2017 Outdoor Painter while painting the lavender fields on Washington Island.    Selected as the Spotlight Artist of the Week by Daily Paintworks, my interview and artwork was featured in July 2016. I was a feature artist in the Missouri Art Council’s February 2014 article “Snapshots of the Missouri Arts Blogosphere” and have been pictured in the Outdoor Painter  May 2014 article “Missouri Event Begins Plein Air Season in Earnest”.  I participate in multiple plein air events, placing locally and regionally, including Best of Show in April 2018 Big Bash Paint Out, August 2017 and 2016 at the OPA Marceline Paint Out.  I continue to participate and teach various art workshops in the region.

I am a Signature Member of Missouri Valley Impressionist Society, a juried member of Summit Art League, working as the organization’s Jury Committee Chair, Administration Team for Urban Sketchers KC and member of the Art Mob. A long standing member of the Tri-County Art League, formally serving as President for 10 years; I retain membership in the Harrisonville Fine Arts Association as well as various other groups and committees.  I have artwork displayed at Scenique Gallery in Rehoboth Beach, Deleware, Gallery Augusta in Augusta, MO, the Gallery at Defiance in Defiance, MO, Belton Art Gallery on Main Street in Belton, MO, GOT Art Gallery in Lee’s Summit, MO, Country Club Bank, Summit Art Gallery at St. Luke’s Hospital East as well as many other rotating locations.  For the latest schedule, please see “Artist Events” on my blog, where you can purchase artwork from the easel.

Since 1988, I have lived and painted in the Historic Childhood Home of President Harry S Truman.  This home has been in my family for nearly 80 years and the grounds remain an inspiration for many landscape paintings.  I additionally share my love of art with students of all ages in various workshops and classes regionally.
