Introduction: My name is Noshaba Bakht. I am originally from Pakistan, born and raised in the heart of Punjab the famous city Lahore. I am an artist by accident. Yes and I realized that it was my call but was hidden in me due to my responsibilities and interests in academics elsewhere rather than art. Art is a great motivator and an outlet for me.

Theme:  My artwork has many layers of different media but mostly I work with the oil medium. It is changeable and so gooey to work with. I do not like to copy the objects and subjects beyond the reason of understanding and am an abstract expressionist, I express my emotions regarding a theme with color and brush strokes in a randomly organized way. I enjoy the process of intuition to start the work on a painting, build on the details, and make intuitively driven changes, which are part or whole of the original painting. It is a challenge with its pitfalls but is always adventurous and gratifying. The artwork is finished with a sense of satisfaction and done when a connection is build and resources for a particular painting have extinguished. Taking photography has broadened the view and understanding of my artistic abilities. Nowadays I am working on the subject of trees.

Goal: My goal is to keep improving the richness and saturation of color and depth of perspective in my paintings. I am trying to read the word of GOD in the natural form of trees.

Awards:  I have won some awards and competitions at Longview Community College (First prize in art fair in 2007, third prize in 2008. First prize in painting at art extravaganza at Longview in sept 2009. My 03 paintings were invited by Café Entry in Denver CO in 2009. One painting in KCAC in March 2010. I have taken art and photography classes at Longview and Penn Valley Community College’s since spring 2006.
