In partnership with Rainy Day Books, the Story Center showcases authors, creating opportunities for the public to learn more about the craft of writing.
Authors Anne Hillerman and Tom Clavin will visit the Story Center to discuss their most recent books. Hillerman’s third novel, "Song of the Lion," follows the further adventures of Joe Leaphorn and Jim Chee, characters made famous by her father, novelist Tony Hillerman. Clavin's latest release, “Dodge City: Wyatt Earp, Bat Masterson, and the Wickedest Town in the American West,” tells the true story of the lives, relationships, and adventures of the men behind the legend. Hillerman and Clavin’s appearance is a lead-up to the Western Writers of America Convention in Kansas City from June 21-24. More information about the conference is at westernwriters.org. The event, presented in partnership with Rainy Day Books and The Writers Place of Kansas City, will be followed by a book sale and signing. Registration is required.
Story Center events are free, but registration is required at http://www.mymcpl.org/story-center/story-center-speaker-series.
