Art Starts at the Library

Presented by Kansas City Public Library at Kansas City Public Library - Central Library

Gallery exhibits. Kids’ activities. Music. Munchies. The Library again makes a place on First Friday for the entire family.

Exhibits: The Genevieve Guldner Gallery offers Main Street, spotlighting the works of acclaimed Kansas City photographer  Mike Sinclair. The Rocky and Gabriella Mountain Gallery features the traveling Smithsonian Institution exhibition Things Come Apart. And a special, pop-up exhibit in Kirk Hall, Indisposable, showcases photographs taken by Library patrons experiencing homelessness who were asked to document their lives or shoot what they found interesting and beautiful.

For the kids: The children’s area hosts activities related to the Things Come Apart exhibit.

Tunes: As part of the 2017 Art in the Loop music series, Cucharada performs tango music on the Rooftop Terrace.
