Wild Wild Guest

Wild Wild Guest

Presented by Imagine That! Kansas City at Imagine That! Kansas City

This April we are pleased to announce “Wild Wild Guest“, a group exhibition of works by our artists curated by  prominent members of the Kansas City arts community. Our guest curators will be Eric and Erin Dodson of Kiosk Gallery, and the teams from 50/50 and Frontspace!

Kiosk Gallery is an artist-run gallery space started by husband and wife team Eric & Erin Dodson in Kansas City, MO. Their mission is to bring the work of emerging artists to the public, and to provide a space for artists to grow their ideas and elevate the presentation of their work. They aim for inclusiveness and transparency in art and gallery activities - to help educate the young artists they work with, and to encourage participation and the building of community. As a nod to their compact space, they often focus on work that relates in some way conceptually to themes of smallness, humility, or succinctness.

50/50 is a platform for fostering progressive dialogues of equally exhibited local and national artists. With an emphasis on exhibiting emerging to mid-career artists who take risks within varying disciplines, 50/50 will broaden Kansas City’s art ecology. Constructed from two shipping containers, the venue expands upon the concept of 50/50 while activating unused urban space in the West Bottoms.

Front/Space is a storefront apartment located in the heart of downtown Kansas City repurposed for non-commercial exhibitions, installations, readings, screenings, concerts, workshops, forums, research + publishing projects. Front/Space strives to provide the surrounding community with access to programming and exhibitions that shape the way we think about societies and cultures, popular or otherwise. They are excited about cross-pollination and the way in which collaboration across professions can invite participants and viewers in ways not readily explored in curatorial practices. Through installation, discussion and art-making, they seek to bring polarized communities closer. We support these initiatives by providing the space and means to realize projects.
