"Battleship Potemkin"--performed by The People's Liberation Big Band of Greater Kansas City

Presented by Musical Theater Heritage, Inc. at MTH Theater at Crown Center

See Sergei Eisenstein’s classic 1925 silent film “Battleship Potemkin” brought to new life by The People’s Liberation Big Band’s strikingly original score. Described by critics as “spectacular” and “remarkably creative,” the ensemble’s score combines newly composed material, free improvisation, arrangements of Shostakovich melodies, and traditional Russian songs to powerful effect.

Support for "Battleship Potemkin" has been provided by the Martha Lee Cain Tranby Music Enrichment Fund and the Neighborhood Tourist Development Fund of Kansas City.
