GLAMA’s documentary, “The Ordinance Project” will be show in conjunction with the InterUrban ArtHouse exhibition “Illuminating the Queer Experience.”
The Gay and Lesbian Archives of Mid-America host a screening of their documentary: The Ordinance Project which details the history of LGBTQ rights and activism in KC during the AIDS crisis. This event is free, 6-8pm.
This event is in conjunction with the exhibition "Illuminating the Queer Experience" that exhibits the experiences and perspectives of artists from many facets of the Kansas City LBGBTQIA community, and provides a welcoming platform to share their stories with those in and outside the queer community.
The opening reception will be Friday, June 15th, 5-9pm with work from 20 local LGBTQIA artists and literary readings and spoken word performances happening from 7:30-8:30.
The closing reception will be Friday, July 20th, 5-8pm, with live music from multiple queer musicians.
