Snap Space Exhibition

Presented by Kansas City Artists Coalition at Kansas City Artists Coalition

SNAP SPACE - KADIE NUGENT AND LEXIE ABRA MILLIKAN invoke personal narratives and materiality by using recycled personal experiences as a way to retell and sometimes rewrite their histories through their artwork. Millikan's recent solo show at Plug Projects The Rugmaker's Daughter considers her own family structure using deconstructed articles of clothing she has collected. She pieces this clothing together to create abstract portraits of those she loved, loves, and those who have been lost somewhere in between. Nugent's collages and drawings depict memory spaces that are heavily inspired by interactions with strangers. Currently she is focused on recycling her unused ideas and drawings from studio by sending them to people she has connected with online in hopes of an art pen pal revolution.
