Presented by Heart of America Shakespeare Festival at Southmoreland Park

Shakespeare's timeless story of revenge, justice, and humanity comes to Southmoreland Park for the Heart of America Shakespeare Festival's 25th anniversary season. Presented Tuesdays through Sundays, this professional production is offered free to the public.

Every performance evening, audience members can participate in pre-show activities, including Show Talk and a parody performance of Hamlet. Enjoy grilled favorites and Laotian-inspired cuisine from Anousone’s Mobile Cuisine as well as sno-cones, funnel cakes, kettle corn and wine, beer and soft drinks available for purchase from our Festival vendors. Bring blankets or chairs for open seating on the lawn. Picnics are welcome.

Gates open at 6:00 p.m. Show Talk is offered at 6:20 p.m. The Parody performance, presented by Team Shakespeare, will begin at 6:50 p.m. Hamlet will begin at 7:30 p.m. nightly. Food and drink will be available for purchase through intermission.

Accessibility Info

Accessible seating is available nightly and can be arranged through the reserved seating coordinator in front of the stage or with any Festival staff member. Signed performances for the deaf and hard-of-hearing are offered Sunday, June 18 and Wednesday, June 21. Special needs and wheelchair access parking is available. Vehicles transporting patrons who have special needs or who are in a wheelchair can check in at the street closure signs and will be allowed to drive to the special needs access point. Golf cart transport is available from this point to the patron’s seats. Golf carts will also transport patrons after the show and return them to the special needs access point. Special needs/handicapped parking will be allowed for any patrons with a state-issued handicapped hang tag or sticker on Oak Street on a first-come, first-served basis as long as space is available.
