Kansas City Baroque Consortium's Summer Series Concert #2

Kansas City Baroque Consortium's Summer Series Concert #2

Presented by Kansas City Baroque Consortium at Westport Presbyterian Church

KC Baroque Summer Concerts - Verona, Vienna & Versailles

In Concert 2, Vienna, KC Baroque journeys beyond the Baroque era, highlighting the ‘new’ and enlightened sounds of the developing music scene of the late 18th and early 19th Centuries. The locale for such music making became known as "Musikstadt Wien," or "Vienna, City of Music".

Charles Metz will be performing on his  fortepiano, recently commissioned from Paul McNulty and modeled after the famous Viennese builder Anton Walter, the leading designer of fortepianos in Mozart’s day. The case is a beautiful patterned Nigerian Mahogany with Viennese Empire designed decorations in gold leaf.

The program will include works of Haydn, CPE Bach, JC Bach, Mozart, and F. Lebrun.

Pre-concert talk at 6:30 with Dr. Paul Laird, Professor of Musicology Kansas University.
