Cave’s Open Spaces project, “Hy-Dyve,” adapts one of his site-specific video works to Hope Center KC’s decommissioned church/community space.
Missouri native Nick Cave has become an iconic figure in American art over the past 10 years, with work that straddles boundaries of sculpture, dance, video and even architecture. Cave received his MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art and his BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute. His sprawling 2017 installation at Mass MoCA and his 2018 exhibition at the First Art Museum in Nashville have been among the most widely praised exhibitions of recent memory. Cave’s Open Spaces project, Hy-Dyve, adapts one of his site- specific video works to Hope Center KC’s decommissioned church/community space.
