TASK is an improvisational event which requires a self-selected group of people who each write down a task on a piece of paper to add to a “TASK pool,” and pull a task from the pool to fulfill in any way they prefer.
Local writer and arts organizer Elizabeth Schurman, using the moniker KdB, hosts a series of afternoon TASK Parties, based on the framework originally developed in 2008 by artist Oliver Herring. TASK is an improvisational event with a simple structure and few rules, but at its minimum it requires a designated area, a variety of props and materials, and a self-selected group of people who each write down a task on a piece of paper to add to a "TASK pool," and pull a task from the pool to fulfill in any way they prefer.
