The new music trio Dionysus includes local saxophonist Alastair Wright along with Juliana Witt (piano) and Dylan Ward (saxophone). Their Open Spaces program, El Viaje ("the journey" in Spanish), centers on composer Zhou Tian's chamber work of the same title, and Kansas City's historic role as a crossroads. Accordingly, the program features composers from the continental U.S., Puerto Rico, Spain, Japan, and China.
