Respect My Elements explores the evolution of Hip-Hop culture by presenting its artistic components: Dance, DeeJaying, Emceeing, and Graffiti Writing through demonstration and participation…then bringing them all together in a classic Hip-Hop jam.
Hip Hop is a vibrant, artistic, diverse culture that celebrates peace, love, unity and having fun. Respect My Elements showcases this movement’s positive spirit by taking audiences from the streets, to the studio, to an all-out Jam--revealing the story of Hip Hop through its four main creative elements: Dance, DeeJaying, Emceeing, and Graffiti Writing.
We want to show that Hip Hop is not just about rap music. Rap is a product, or a part of Hip Hop, but it is far from the full story. And that story is not told in full by the negative images and news seen in the media. Hip Hop is a movement with a strong history that has, for many years, brought positive change to countless individuals and communities across the Earth. But this only truly happens when it is fully understood in its authentic entirety.
Respect My Elements will educate audiences about true Hip Hop by showing how each part of the culture flows together to create an experience rich in rhythm, art and dance. And yes, we will get you all up on your feet to loudly and proudly celebrate this discovery!
