From open mics, cultural celebrations, or film screenings that correlate to featured exhibits or other public events and festivals hosted by the museum, the Teen Council invites teens from all around the Kansas City MO/KS area to Final Friday. We offer light refreshments, activities or performances, and sometimes feature guest speakers/visitors! Whatever the theme is, it’s always a good time. Come check it out 6-9 every last Friday of the month!

Teen events at the Nelson-Atkins are adult supervised but designed for autonomous exploration of art and ideas by teens aged 14-18. Younger, middle-school-aged youth are welcome to participate as long as they are comfortable away from parental supervision and around the social dynamics of older teens.
