Richard Goode in Concert

Presented by Friends of Chamber Music at The Folly Theater

About Richard Goode: Richard Goode has been hailed for music-making of tremendous emotional power, depth and expressiveness, and has been acknowledged worldwide as one of today’s leading interpreters of Classical and Romantic music. In regular performances with major orchestras, recitals in the world’s music capitals, and through his extensive and acclaimed Nonesuch recordings, he has won a large and devoted following. About the Program: One of our best friends, Richard Goode has appeared with the Friends of Chamber Music more than any other pianist. His career was launched by the Friends of Chamber Music in the 1987-88 season with performances of Beethoven’s complete piano sonatas. His recordings of these sonatas are considered by critics to be definitive interpretations of these works. Beethoven’s “Les Adieux” Sonata is combined with other members of the First Viennese School—Haydn and Mozart—in addition to two of the most adventurous and innovative keyboard composers of their times, Janáček and Chopin.
