The Northland Community Choir will present “Great Music from the Great War: A Centennial Celebration”, a concert featuring music from World War I on Sunday, November 11th at 3:00 pm at the Parkville Presbyterian Church as part of a three-day celebration to honor veterans. Under the direction of Paul Erickson, the choir is committed to making music matter in the community and performs four concerts throughout the year.
The community is invited to attend a Thanksgiving Community Dinner following the concert in Whipple Hall at the church.
The Fort Leavenworth parade, the oldest and largest parade that has honored veterans since 1919, will take place on Monday, November 12th beginning at 10:30 am in Leavenworth, Kansas.
Day three, Tuesday, November 13th, will feature a special appreciation event to be held at the Parkville Presbyterian Church with exhibits open at 4:00 pm and a special presentation at 7:00 pm. Guest speaker Capt. Tommy Clack retired after 47+ years of military and government employment and has been involved in over 300 memorials honoring veterans/military and their families.
