Time: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

• 10:00 am meet & check-in at Main Spring Arts Gallery & Studios
• 10:15-12:00 pm sketch the Hall of Trees exhibit at Hall of Waters
• Around 12:00 pm return to the check-in area to share your work and take a group photo
• Stick around afterwards and eat lunch with the group at Willow Spring Mercantile before heading out to shop or tour other locations, like the Elms Hotel

Saturday, December 1st Sketch Crawl will be at the Hall of Waters, Hall of Trees exhibit in historic downtown Excelsior Springs, MO.

USkKC member, Jennifer Rivas, collaborated with partner location, Main Spring Arts Gallery & Studios (110 S Main Street, Excelsior Springs, MO 64024) nestled between theaters, antique shops, and boutiques that keep this town bustling. She will greet you at 10:00 am inside the gallery. While there, tour artist work on display and be sure to strike up a conversation with Bobby Bersherse or Jennifer Hutton, members of the gallery.

Main Spring Arts Gallery & Studios is conveniently located across the street from the Hall of Waters, our sketching destination. There is plenty of street parking near the gallery, near the Hall of Waters, or in the lot with the pink wall (directly west of the gallery). Please mind the ONE WAY streets, they are everywhere.

About Our Location: The Hall of Waters is an art deco timepiece with a history of healing waters. An interesting conversation starter is if the Hall of Waters haunted - the stories are compelling. For this sketch event, the Mineral Bar will be dressed to the nines for the annual Chamber of Commerce Hall of Trees exhibit.

Access within the Hall of Waters for sketchers includes the Mineral Bar, the spa museum, and the 2nd floor balcony. Any location outdoors are available as well, weather permitting. Please note that there are no tables or seating available inside the building. If you need seating, a small folding chair is encouraged. Additionally, please be respectful of patrons, the tree displays, sculptures, and any artwork that our group may encounter.

Who should attend? Any age. Any skill level. We're here to have fun, encourage others, and to celebrate individual styles!

What should you bring? Anything will do, many of our members use watercolor, pens, pencils/colored pencils, pastels, and paper that works with that specific medium. The challenge is to be mobile and travel light, you would be surprised about what you can accomplish while limiting your choices. If you are just starting out, student grade or discount brand is perfect.

Trade at the Art Share: a favorite at every meet-up, Artist Trading Cards are 2.5" x 3.5" (available pre-made at stores or make your own from paper you already have on hand).  They're useful in helping you to hone in on your subject, small enough to complete at least one during the sketch event (a real confidence booster), and a means for collecting art from fellow USkKCers.
