Join Archivist Randy Sowell for a fascinating program on another historic ascension to the presidency-Harry Truman's 1949 inauguration, the nation's first racially integrated inaugural celebration. Sowell will draw from the Truman Library's rich archive to explore what the event meant to President Truman, to the nation, and to the people of his hometown, Independence, Missouri.
This presentation is one in the series of "Talkin' Truman" programs, offered each First Friday from May through September at 11 a.m.
The program is included with Museum admission; seating is first come, first served.
