STRAUSS Till Eulenspiegel’s lustige Streiche

Legendary pianist Emanuel Ax appears with the Kansas City Symphony to perform two superb Mozart works — the intricate Piano Concerto No. 16 and his 19th piano concerto, which was played at the coronation of the Holy Roman Emperor Leopold II in 1790. Strauss’ Till Eulenspiegel’s Merry Pranks, a composition recounting the tomfoolery and mischief of a famous German folklore rascal, is an orchestral tour-de-force from start to finish.

They are hosted by Music Director Michael Stern, David T. Beals III Assistant Conductor Jason Seber, or Executive Director Frank Byrne. They often feature the guest artist performing that particular concert.

These events provide insight that may help you better understand and appreciate the music you are about to hear, as well as learn about the journey of the Symphony and artists working to make the music come together. To attend a Concert Comments Event you must purchase a ticket for that evening’s performance.
