Kick off the holiday season at the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens where thousands of candles illuminate over a mile of pathways through woods and gardens, music fills the air, while lights brighten the trees, buildings and bridges.
Now in its 19th year, the Holiday Luminary Walk at the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens has become the traditional kick-off of the holiday season for many families. Kids love the Gnome and Fairy Villages, the colorful Children’s Garden and visiting with Santa. Grown-ups appreciate the quiet walk through the winter woods and the many musical performances. And everyone enjoys hot Louisburg Cider around the campfire, served by Boy Scout Troop 222, followed by a horse-drawn wagon ride. The Luminary is the major fund-raiser for the Friends of the Arboretum (FOTA); all proceeds are used entirely to benefit the Arboretum.
Tickets are date specific and must be purchased in advance.
We have been delighted each year as the popularity of the Luminary Walk has grown. To insure that everyone has an enjoyable experience, we limit the number of tickets sold and require purchases for a specific night IN ADVANCE online or at the Arboretum before event day.
