Polly Apfelbaum: Waiting for the UFOs (a space set between a landscape and a bunch of flowers)

Presented by Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art at Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art

Kemper Museum presents a major exhibition of works by internationally-renowned New York-based artist Polly Apfelbaum (American, born 1955). She is best known for expansive polychromatic installations, which coalesce the radical and the beautiful, simultaneously domestic and irreverent. Kicking off Kemper Museum’s twenty-fifth anniversary year, Apfelbaum’s oeuvre is the very essence of transformation, innovation, and brilliance which exemplifies the mission of Kemper Museum today and into the future.

Waiting for the UFOs (a space set between a landscape and a bunch of flowers) originated at Ikon Gallery, Birmingham, UK, in 2018. The exhibition has been specially designed for Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, and curated by Erin Dziedzic, director of curatorial affairs.
