On June 28, 1969, New York City police raided the Stonewall Inn, a small gay bar in Greenwich Village. While not an uncommon occurrence, this time was different . . . the community fought back. The Stonewall Riots are widely seen as one of the most pivotal moments in LGBTQ history. In collaboration with the New York City Gay Men’s Chorus and the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles, HMC presents, Stonewall 50, a new work that commemorates the 50th Anniversary of the beginning of the Gay Rights movement.
