Bob & Una Walkenhorst: For Tomorrow

Bob & Una Walkenhorst: For Tomorrow

Presented by Olathe Public Library at Olathe Indian Creek Library

As lead singer and songwriter for the critically acclaimed band The Rainmakers, Bob Walkenhorst has been a fixture on the Kansas City and international music scene since the 1980s. Bob and his daughter Una--a singer-songwriter in her own right, from her 2014 release Scars, to her recent years as part of the New Orleans indie music scene--collaborated on the CD, For Tomorrow. The pairing has produced new songs, new visions and new recordings. Local radio station The Bridge 90.9 FM recently ranked the title track from the CD the top song of 2018.

Cellist Sascha Groschang, a member of the newEar Contemporary Chamber Ensemble, a professional new music chamber group dedicated to playing the work of living composers, and principal cellist with the St. Joseph Symphony, has shared the stage Yo-Yo Ma and Itzhak Perlman, and performed with Peter Gabriel, Josh Groban, Sarah McGlaughlin, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Michael Bublé and Amy Grant, among others.
