Valentines Day Art Extravaganza: Feb 14th, 6:30-8:30pm. An artist and a cardiologist join forces to shed light on the science behind a broken heart, and how to help heal it through art.
Is a broken heart real? Yes! Scientists call this phenomenon Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy (broken-heart syndrome). Thankfully it is temporary and reversible. This painting workshop will help repair heartbreak related to chronic illness, caregiving, grief, and beyond. Co-led by art therapist Sherri Jacobs, and cardiologist Dr. Elizabeth V. Deng, participants will explore their emotions through the creative process, and leave with a beautiful masterpiece of a heart image painted on a canvas (no art experience required).
