Mary Atkins: Tales & Travels | March 9 at the Nelson Atkins Museum | Hear more about Mary’s travels, birthplace, and family–details that help round out the limited portrait we have of one of our founders Mary Atkins.
Last year’s Women’s History Month event on Mary Atkins was so popular we are bringing it back! Author and illustrator Lisa Campbell Ernst, who is working on a children’s book based on Atkins, will join Museum Archivist Tara Laver to give an update on what she’s uncovered in her research on the museum’s benefactress. Hear more about Mary’s travels, birthplace, and family–details that help round out the limited portrait we have of Mary Atkins. In addition, Laver will share documents, photographs, and artifacts related to Mary Atkins from the archives for attendees to explore. Adult program, accompanied children welcome.
