BIO: Kyle Selley is a Kansas City based artists. Kyle is formally trained in both ceramics and sculpture but his current approach to creating art is through the use of fireworks. He is endorsed and sponsored by Dominator Fireworks. He also works with Dominator to choreograph large scale pyrotechnic displays. Kyle is a young, up-and-coming artist, seeking to establish his place in the Kansas City arts community and further his career.

STATEMENT: Fireworks seem to be innately captivating to human beings. I am studying to gain a better understanding of our natural fascination with fireworks and compare these findings to my own interests and sentimental associations. My work seeks three-dimensionality within the two-dimensional experience presented. These spectacles of light seemingly ignite some part of the human soul. We instantly become mesmerized by this phenomenon. My senses is that there are both evolutionary and spiritual reasons for this. Through my studies I hope to gain a more solidified understanding of these perplexities. I want my artwork to tap into this captivation that the rest of humanity seemingly craves.
