Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn A Musical Presented by Music Theatre Kansas City and The Black Repertory Theatre of Kansas City March 16-24th at B&B Live! inside B&B Theatres-Shawnee
Music Theatre Kansas City (MTKC) is excited to announce this new collaborative musical production with The Black Repertory Theatre of Kansas City. “Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” will feature a cast of 45, including youth performers and adult actors from the Kansas City region. It is directed by Damon Russell Armstrong, Executive Artistic Director of The Black Repertory Theatre of Kansas City; Andy Penn, MTKC Assistant Director, and music directed by Julie Danielson, MTKC’s Artistic Director. This is the first time the two theatre companies have collaborated on a show.
Synopsis: This musical adaptation of Mark Twain’s literary classic takes the audience down the mighty Mississippi River as the infamous Huckleberry Finn and his friend Jim, a runaway slave, search for freedom. Performed live on stage, this musical features a large cast and live orchestra. It will be a fun show suitable for all ages.
