Perfect for anyone with little or no experience with the potter's wheel, in this class you'll make your own cups and bowls from scratch! We'll focus on everything from the basics of wedging, centering, and throwing to glazing and finishing your pieces. Come learn a new skill or revisit an old hobby with this fun hands-on class!

Week 1: Participants will start with a tour of the studio to get comfortable with the space, and then dive right into wedging, centering and throwing some cups and bowls. Towards the end of the evening, we will introduce the basics of handles and trimming.
Week 2: We will be revisiting throwing cups and bowls, and various techniques to decorate your pots before they are loaded into the bisque kiln. Slip decoration, stencils, and carving techniques will be introduced. Make make make!
Week 3: Glaze day! We will get a run-down of some successful glazing techniques, as well as finish up any work that still needs to go into a bisque kiln.
Week 4: Show and tell! We will look together at the finished pieces from the glaze kiln, talk about what we see, and have time to glaze the rest of our pieces for pickup later.
