Chalk Walk in Historic Northeast

Chalk Walk in Historic Northeast

Presented by Northeast Arts KC at Concourse Fountain in Concourse Park

This FREE, family-friendly event in the tradition of European 16th Century street painting transforms the dull, grey concrete of the sidewalks and surface of the Concourse Park Fountain into colorful, pastel canvases.

Seasoned artists are encouraged to submit a drawing and get their own "square" to create. Professional Koss chalk pastels are provided free to complete your masterpiece on the clean concrete of the Concourse Fountain and sidewalks.  Walk in's are accepted with sketches and children can get a cup of chalk to draw next to the pros.  We feed and water our volunteer artists and have entertainment including:  Bubbles, Kites, Stone Lion Puppets,  Toy Boat Painting, Craft Tables and several Not for Profit organizations with tables and information.  KC University will be doing health screenings on Saturday morning.
