“With an Eye on Germany” a photo exhibition through Apr 27th from local photographer David Beckers featuring photographs from the Lower Rhine region in Germany. This exhibition is open to view during Goethe Pop Up’s normal hours: Tue-Sat, 12pm-6pm.
An exhibition from local photographer David Beckers featuring photographs from the Rhine and Lower Rhine area. With familial ties to Germany, Beckers‘ exhibition documents an American’s journey to connect with his heritage over multiple visits to the country. Focusing on the details and minutiae of everyday life, With an Eye on Germany emphasizes the idea that by exploring universal commonalities and avoiding the temptation to sight see, one can better reconnect with their roots.
A fourth generation German-American, Beckers‘ photography is inspired by the work of documentary photographers such as Walker Evans, Alfred Eisenstadt, Gary Winogrand, and Baldwin Lee. He currently lives and works in Kansas City as a commercial photographer and designer.
Following the exhibition's opening on First Friday, Apr 5th, it will continue to be shown through Apr 27th at our space during normal hours: Tue-Sat, 12pm-6pm.
