Kansas City, MO., (April XX, 2019) – KKFI 90.1FM’s Boogie Bridge presents a Robert Johnson Birthday Celebration on Sunday, May 19. Doors open at 1PM and the show runs from 2PM to 5PM. Hosted by Jason Vivone and The Billy Bats, this memorable blues-centric experience will be held at B.B.’s Lawnside BBQ located at 1205 E 85th St in Kansas City, MO.
Born Robert Leroy Johnson, the legendary guitarist played many blues styles. His musical mastery birthed a Faustian-style myth that still shrouds the Mississippi bluesman to this day and he’s beloved for his delta blues songwriting, singing, and guitar-playing. Eric Clapton called Johnson the most important blues singer that ever lived, and Robert Johnson’s contributions to the foundations of rock music earned him an induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame during the organization’s inaugural ceremony. Robert Johnson remains an influential force and figure among emerging guitarists and aficionados of blues.
