FREE | Live performance with Kansas City Electronic Music and Arts Alliance: Suite for the Passersby | Sun, June 16, at 1:30 pm | Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, MO
The museum is pleased to collaborate with KcEMA (Kansas City Electronic Music and Arts Alliance) to present the world premiere of Christina Butera’s Suite for the Passersby. Composed for the museum’s Donald J. Hall Sculpture park, the solo-instrument and electronic movements are also accessible through a smartphone app that responds in real time based on a listener’s proximity to specific works of art. After the live performance of Suite for the Passersby in Atkins Auditorium, the audience will be encouraged to experience the app in the Sculpture Park on their own devices.
Offered in conjunction with the UMKC Conservatory of Music and Dance’s Summer Composition Workshop.
