May Oak Park Library Exhibition - Chris Lavalley & Lisa Healey

May Oak Park Library Exhibition - Chris Lavalley & Lisa Healey

Presented by Kansas City Artists Coalition at Johnson County Library - Oak Park

OAK PARK LIBRARY - CHRIS LAVALLEY is inspired by the complexity and beauty of nature. From the small, minute details of organisms, plant and animal cells to the large expanses of land and space. The topography of the land, the open spaces, the small details, the rhythm and pulse of the earth, the rich tones of color, the regeneration of life, and my individual experiences have formed an unique partnership in forming my personal mythology of symbolism and marks.

OAK PARK LIBRARY - LISA HEALEY wants to show people the nature she sees. She hopes they will feel like they have been brought not only into the garden but into the plant or flower itself. Healey's work includes macro photographic images with a focus on the natural objects as line, form, and color to create a composition that draws you in. Light is just the brush with which these ideas are drawn. The inspiration is her love of nature, flowers, trails, and the tiniest wildlife you find there. "When out in nature we realize we are only part of a larger whole. My work plays with the representation vs abstract expression as well as the affect of scale on our viewing of an image."
