Pablo Sanhueza is a Chilean born and raised multi-instrumentalist and bandleader. Since his arrival to Kansas City in 1996, he has distinguished himself the foremost exponents of Latin American and Caribbean music across the Midwest; working with and training three generations of musicians as a Bandleader and freelance artist since 2003. His music and bilingual storytelling have inspired listeners of all ages and backgrounds across the southwest and midwestern United States. While on sabbatical in Chile during 2014, Sanhueza immersed himself in the study of afro-chilean and mestizo folkloric traditions, expanding his traditional musical vocabulary. In 2018, Sanhueza co-founded the Kansas City Latin Jazz Orchestra--the first nonprofit organization in the Midwest that is dedicated to the performance and education of Salsa, Latin Jazz, and Latin American folkloric music & dance.
