Making Moves #8: Cerca Trova

Making Moves #8: Cerca Trova

Presented by Charlotte Street at Unknown

For Making Moves 8 we are proud to present “Buck”. Buck, a dance-theater reimagining of Ibsen’s “Peer Gynt”, will combine movement, theater, design, and story-telling to take audiences on a journey through the adventures of Peer Gynt. Conceived by Making Moves’ very own Kyle Mullins with Cerca Trova, in collaboration with Joel Moses and Timothy Rothwell.

cerca trova (chair∙kuh tro∙vuh) is a contemporary repertory company founded by artistic director Kyle Mullins in 2018. Based in Kansas City, MO, Cerca Trova’s mission is present dance works both new and historical by local, regional, and national choreographers. “Cerca trova”, meaning “seek and find”, defines Mullins’ approach to the creative process. Pose questions, search for answers, and move towards them. Collaboration and dialogue are essential to our process. Cerca Trova is committed to bringing high quality works of art to Kansas City audiences in both traditional and non-traditional venues.

The event is FREE and open to the public. All ages are welcome. Doors open at 6:30 and the performance starts at 7:00 PM!

A monthly gathering, Making Moves aims to build community through a shared passion for dance and movement. Throughout 2019, Making Moves will host improvisation jams and provide performance opportunities for local and regional dance makers. The series is produced by Kyle Mullins and made possible by Charlotte Street Foundation.
