Salt Paper Printmaking Workshop

Salt Paper Printmaking Workshop

Presented by InterUrban ArtHouse at InterUrban ArtHouse

Invented by William Henry Fox Talbot in the 1830s, salted paper printing is the oldest technique for the reproduction of photographic negatives. With the resurgence of alternative processes in photographic art, the salted paper process is beloved for its historical value and rich chocolate to deep red tones.

NO PHOTOGRAPHIC EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY! Students will work from photographic, hand drawn, and found objects to produce unique photographic prints on paper and fabric. Learn the basics of salted paper printing in this 4 hour, one-day workshop.

A workshop fee of $75 includes all equipment and materials. Bring your own large format negs, digital files to create digital negatives, or objects to create photograms. Attendance is limited to 10 participants.
