Join us for Obliterate.kc on Saturday, July 27 where you’ll participate in an interactive art exhibit. In addition to helping us “obliterate” 2016 Main as we know it, your ticket will also include premium open bar, food, live music, and more.
Japanese contemporary artist Yayoi Kusama is known primarily for her sculpture and installation art. In 2002 her interactive Obliteration Room was exhibited at the Queensland Art Gallery in South Brisbane, Australia. Since then, it has been replicated several times within galleries and museums throughout the world.
This summer, for one night only, 2016 Main is putting its own spin on Kusama’s Obliteration Room as an homage to the visionary artist, and also to create a one-of-a-kind interactive masterpiece in the heart of the Crossroads District. At Obliterate.kc, we invite Kansas City to help us dot the town red… or blue, green, yellow… whatever color you want during our interactive art party. At the beginning of the event, each guest will be given his or her own packet of dots to use at one's own discretion to cover, transform… obliterate 2016 Main as we know it.
Early bird tickets ($60) are on sale until July 8. Regularly priced tickets ($75) will be on sale until the day of the event (July 27). Tickets can be purchased via the 2016 Main Event Space & Art Gallery website. Each ticket includes premium open bar, food and late-night snacks, participation in an interactive art exhibit, live music, entrance into a prize raffle, and more.
