First Friday with Special Guest Momoko Usami| Playful, Story Telling Ceramic Works | Friday September 6, 2019 5:00-10:00pm With additional ceramic art by 323CLAY artists.
Please join us at Bredin-Lee Gallery for First Friday in the Kansas City Crossroads. This month we are featuring the ceramic art of Momoko Usami.
Momoko Usami: Boxes with unveiled stories inside, little people vases with moveable legs and arms. I like how function invites everyday touch that gives life to the work. My functional sculpture works can’t be fully enjoyed unless you bring them into your life to give them your personal touch. My playful and often interactive story telling ceramic works draw inspiration from many things: the old Japanese concept of Mitate, scrolled painting from the Edo period, study of everyday movement, dreams, and daily encounters on the street.
We also feature ceramic art from 323CLAY artists. You will find sculptural and functional work in a variety of shapes, sizes and styles.
