The Kansas City Symphony Guild was organized in 1971 as the Philharmonic Guild North. Its purpose was to support and promote the Kansas City Philharmonic Orchestra. When the orchestra reorganized as the Kansas City Symphony in 1983/84, the Philharmonic Guild North was renamed the Kansas City Symphony Guild with the same purpose: to support and promote the Kansas City Symphony. The Guild is one of several auxiliary organizations affiliated with the Kansas City Symphony and is the only auxiliary with a Northland base. The Guild’s purpose is to support and promote awareness of the Symphony.
