September\'s Finest Folk event will feature two performances by Sky Smeed & Patrick Mureithi, located at our office in the Crossroads.
Patrick Mureithi: A recent transplant to Kansas City, Patrick Mureithi is an award-winning documentary filmmaker, musician and speaker. He plays original delta blues, folk and reggae - influenced music on the slide guitar, acoustic guitar and ukulele.

Sky Smeed: Sky was born and raised outside of Chanute, Kan., in an old, one-room schoolhouse. Last year he sold the country home he built by hand, moved north to Lawrence, and began settling in to an old fixer-upper on the north side of the Kaw River.
Smeed has released seven albums, including Leaving Again, which came out in February 2019. Listeners often compare Sky’s music to Gram Parsons, Neil Young and John Prine, though his easy-going, off-the cuff banter and transparency link him to contemporaries like Todd Snider and Paul Thorn.
