To celebrate the 200th anniversary of the virtuoso pianist & composer Clara Schumann, come and relive the story of one of Classical Music’s most famous and controversial love triangles. Robert Schumann his wife Clara Schumann and Johannes Brahms were all close friends. They dominated the musical scene in their day as performers and composers. However, rumors of a more intimate relationship between Clara and Johannes have persisted since that time. Robert ended up going mad and committing suicide. Listen and learn of the passion and romance of their story, told through their own music.
Works to be performed by Robert Lamar Sims (piano) & Keith Stanfield (violin) include the Sonata in A minor (R. Schumann), Three Romances for Violin & Piano (C. Schumann) & the Sonata in D minor (J. Brahms).
