The Lyric Opera of Kansas City’s Resident and Apprentice Artists present a program featuring arias and ensembles from well-known operas.
The Lyric Opera brings high quality live operatic performances to the people of the Kansas City area and five-state region. The Company currently stages its productions on the Muriel Kauffman Theatre stage at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. Repertoire choices encompass original language performances of standard repertory as well as contemporary and American operas. The Company seeks to mount productions that enrich the community it serves, as well as reflect the highest artistic standards of the profession. It offers innovative programs, like this one, designed to further music and arts education both in schools and in the community. The Apprentice Artists Program features University of Kansas and UMKC Conservatory of Music and Dance graduate students training to become professional opera singers; the Resident Artist Program gives postgraduate students an opportunity to refine their skills and develop their performing careers.
