Presented by American Jazz Museum at The Blue Room

Jackie Zamora Jackie Zamora has become one of the most popular singers and entertainers in the American Southwest. She began studying music at the age of 13 with her mother Estela in her native home of  Lima, Perú.  After relocating to New Mexico, Jackie sang with the Western New Mexico University and University of New Mexico choral ensembles but soon took a detour from choral performance to explore her love for Latin music. She currently sings for the New Mexico Latin Jazz orchestra, leads her own ensemble and sings with the most seasoned salsa bands in the Southwest and Midwest regions. Kansas City Latin Jazz Orchestra The Kansas City Latin Jazz Orchestra is the premier latin music ensemble of the Midwest. Founded and directed by percussionist Pablo Sanhueza, KCLJO is the first performance and education non-profit in the Midwestern United States dedicated to salsa and latin jazz. With 40,000 audience members reached in 2018 in the broader KC region and American Southwest, the Kansas City Latin Jazz Orchestra is an intercultural, intergenerational organization, bringing transnational experiences to the stage, the dance floor and diverse communities.
