Emily Young: Digital Debut | March 6th – April 30th | Belger Crane Yard Studios
“My work focuses on unpacking and examining the heavy emotions we would rather not admit, such as guilt, hate, and terror, through allegorical animal narratives heavily influenced by Aesop’s Fables. Each story is carved into a utilitarian object- a mug, a bowl, a vase. It is important to me that the vessels are used in daily rituals, such as morning coffee or soup at dinner. By confronting the viewer with these intense images during calm, intimate moments, I hope to spark an honest conversation between the viewer and their own raw emotions that society often deems too inappropriate to even acknowledge.” - Emily Young
