Friends of Rockhurst University Library Critique of Featured book: Red Notice

The Friends of Rockhurst University Library presents a thought-provoking evening of discussion of the book Red Notice supplemented by cocktails and heavy hors d'oeuvres. Red Notice (2015) written by Bill Browder, the largest foreign investor in Russia until 2005, is a true story that describes the crime and corruption during the Putin regime and Bill Browder’s harrowing role in uncovering it. Tickets are available here (individual $60 or $600 for a 10-ticket table). Funds raised from this event benefit the Rockhurst University Library. For more information and to register visit rockhurst.edu/center-arts-letters.   About the author: Bill Browder grew up on the South Side of Chicago where his father was a mathematics professor at the University of Chicago. Browder’s love for mathematics eventually took him into the world of finance and eventually Moscow at the time of the breakup of the Soviet Union. He made his fortune heading the largest investment fund in Russia and became the founder and CEO of Hermitage Captial Management. His recent of the discoveries of wrongdoing by Russian government, make this book read like a “can’t put down” financial caper, crime thriller, and political crusade.
