The Friends of Rockhurst University Library presents a thought-provoking evening of discussion of the book Red Notice supplemented by cocktails and heavy hors d'oeuvres. Red Notice (2015) written by Bill Browder, the largest foreign investor in Russia until 2005, is a true story that describes the crime and corruption during the Putin regime and Bill Browder’s harrowing role in uncovering it. Browder’s love for mathematics eventually took him into the world of finance and eventually Moscow at the time of the breakup of the Soviet Union. He made his fortune heading the largest investment fund in Russia and became the founder and CEO of Hermitage Captial Management. His recent of the discoveries of wrongdoing by Russian government, make this book read like a “can’t put down” financial caper, crime thriller, and political crusade.
