Celebrating Black History Month on the KC Streetcar

Presented by KC Streetcar Authority at KC Streetcar

The KC Streetcar is celebrating everything that makes Kansas City great, including our diversity and culture. Join us as we celebrate Black History Month with an afternoon of storytelling on board two streetcars.

One KC Streetcar will feature Kansas City poetry and spoken word by Sheri Purpose Hall and East of Red Art House, accompanied by Kansas City violinist, Riz Canady. The second KC Streetcar will feature a live art performance by JT Daniels, with music provided by Kansas City’s own NuBlvckCity featuring Royce “They Call Me Sauce” Handy, VP3, Kartez Marcel and Love, Mae C.

Performances will be on Saturday, February 15 from 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 pm. and will take place on board two different streetcars from 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Guests are invited to board from the Union Station Streetcar Stop at 1:30 p.m. or you can locate the specific streetcars using our online tracker: https://kcstreetcar.org/route/streetcar-tracker/. We will announce specific streetcar numbers on Saturday, February 15 from our Twitter and Facebook accounts. Make an afternoon of it and hop on both streetcars to experience all of the fun. This is a free and family friendly event.

This community event is a collaboration between the KC Streetcar Authority and NuBlvckCity. *Artwork created by Kansas City artist JT Daniels.
