Bring your instrument and sit in at the weekly Blue Monday Jam Session – or just take in the sounds of one of Kansas City’s best jam sessions. Each Monday night begins with a set by a featured ensemble and then we open the mic to interested musicians. Doors open at 5:00 pm, live music starts at 7:00 pm, jam session starts at 8:00 pm. Arrive early to sign up! This week's Blue Monday Jam Session is hosted by trumpeter Daniel Dissmore. Daniel Dissmore is a trumpet player based out of Kansas City, Missouri. Versatile in a multitude of styles and settings, he has played with various groups of diverse offerings around KC. Groups such as the Marcus Lewis Big Band, Mariachi Oro de Mexico, Relativity Brass, the Phantastics, Mundo Nouvo, and many more. Being interested in a wide range of styles and being the son of immigrant and military parents, a multiplicity of perspectives and influences have informed his artistry. His music, while rooted in the traditions and contributions of his predecessors, is unique to him. Though young, Daniel Dissmore serves as a continuum in the cycle that is Black American Music.
